Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every timeUnfortunately, I don't have an x64 OS installed so I cannot debug on this platform. Offline #3 2009-11-09 10:43:06

Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every timeThanks for the proposition, but I don't think it will be enough to correct the problems with x64 platform. Offline #6 2009-11-10 19:45:06

Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every timeIE6 and IE5.5 are working on my Win7 x86 machine. Did you have a fresh Win7 install ? or did you install some IE add-ons, or visual studio, or some other dev tools ? Offline #8 2009-11-11 22:05:55
Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every time
No this is on a fresh Win7 retail install, with IETester being literally the only thing I have installed. Is VMWare the problem? Offline #9 2009-11-13 22:15:19

Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every timeIETester uses jsproxy.dll library if you enabled proxy in Internet Options(Internet Explorer settings). But this library in Win7 is the new version made for IE8, and old IE (5.5, 6.0, 7.0) can't use it properly. Offline #11 2009-12-04 10:07:08
Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every time
I just tried this, but it didn't work for me. My proxy was already disabled so I tried toggling it on and off, but still no change. Offline #12 2009-12-17 22:50:21
Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every timeI too am having this problem. Offline #13 2010-01-14 16:48:28
Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every timeIf you are running Windows, here is a workaround that you may want to try/think about. I have IETester installed on a Virtual machine runnning XP SP3 (and a Vista as well) that are running IE8. If you install IETester on one of those Virtual PC machines, you should be good to go. Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every timeOne good way to run earlier IE on Windows 7 is VMware ThinAPP. Check out the video in the following post and you might be amazed of what you can do with that. Offline #19 2012-03-01 16:49:42
Re: Windows 7 x64 - IE6 crashes every timeI am having the same issue with Windows 7x64 Enterprise with SP1 and trying to use the "New IE6" or the "New IE 5.5" options. ALL of the other options work fine. Last edited by kj95376 (2012-03-02 20:40:18) Offline |
